Channel modeling for satellite and HAPS system design

چکیده
This paper reviews the state of the art and current trends towards 3G and 3GC mobile satellite systems that are being planned in parallel or within the International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT-2000) framework. The subject is firstly approached by introducing the key and enabling technologies both for satellites and high altitude platform stations. After having introduced an overall picture, another review is presented on physical layer research activities including propagation and channel modeling. Finally, the use of the reviewed channel models for Code Division Multiple Access system level analysis is introduced and some current efforts towards system design are presented. WiMAX HAPS-Based Downlink Performance Employing Geometrical and Statistical Propagation- Channel Characteristics
The evolution to a well-expected technology in wireless-communications maturity is in progress. Complementary applications are being suggested for such purposes, which might be possibly effective from the already ongoing research on high-altitude-platform systems. Herein, we introduce a HAPS-based system for delivering broadband communications intended to be operational at L band. A physical-st...
متن کاملEffect of the Satellite Channel Programs on Value System of the Students in Islamic Azad University( Neka Branch)
Advanced technologies in satellite TV broadcasts have led anomalies and opposite behavior of young people against social values. Western countries have targeted different aspects of youth identity through these programs, including, religious, social, cultural and political security. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of satellite channels on the value system of students. The aim o...
متن کاملSpectrum planning and performance evaluation between heterogeneous satellite networks
A new network has been recently proposed for the provision of fixed broadband services via high altitude platform stations (HAPS) in the 48/47 GHz band. One of the critical issues of this technology is spectrum sharing with the fixed satellite service. This paper examines the effect of Earth-to-stratosphere co-channel interference produced by ground stations of HAPS network to geostationary orb...
متن کاملHAPS Gateway Link in the 5850-7075 MHz and Coexistence with Fixed Satellite Service
Gateway link is essential to connect HAPS platform to terrestrial based networks. This crucial link is incorporated in HAPS fixed service spectrum allocation in considerably high frequencies, renders the link for more attenuations by atmospheric gases, and rain effects, especially when the regional climate is not favorable. However, under the agenda item 1.20 of World Radio Conference-2012 (WRC...
متن کاملFirst COST 297-HAPCOS Workshop – York, UK 26-27 October 2006 Analysis and performance evaluation of integrated HAP/Satellite architectures
Both HAPS and satellite as stand alone systems represent a flexible infrastructure to provide telecommunication capabilities for a broad set of services. Nevertheless, each of the two technologies can greatly help the other to reduce the impact of some intrinsic limitation in performance. For example, the use of HAPS as intermediate point of access can greatly reduce physical layer requirements...
